How is it even possible that 2017 is over? The year had truly flown by and so many incredible memories were made. As a reflection of the past year, I've compiled a list of my favorites, ranging from fashion favorites, beauty favorites, music favorites, and so on. I wish you all a Happy New Year and that 2018 will be filled with laughter and love!
Benefit Watt's Up! Highlighter: This highlighter gives me the most natural glow and is easily buildable. If you want to look like you're glowing from withing, this is the product for you. I always end up going back to this highlighter no matter what!
Tarte Water Foundation: A foundation that has good coverage and you can't even tell that you're wearing it? Yes please! This is another product that you can build up easily while still looking natural. It gives a flawless finish and doesn't cake up. I'm in show choir, which requires us to wear a relatively heavy amount of makeup for competitions, and Tarte's water foundation gets the job done!
Philosophy Purity Cleanser: Purity is perfect for all skin types and is an amazing cleanser overall. It helps break down your makeup and remove any extra dirt left on your face. Purity leaves you feeling fresh, clean, and ready for the rest of your skincare routine.
Mario Badescu Rosewater Spray: If an empty bottle of this product doesn't tell you something, I don't know what does! I've gone through bottles of bottles of this rosewater spray. It's so refreshing and keeps my skin hydrated and fresh throughout the day. It can be used as a toner, a priming spray, a setting spray, and it can be kept in your bag to use whenever needed.
Philosophy Fresh Cream Perfume: Fresh Cream is my signature scent, hands down. I knew it would be the scent I'd be wearing for a long time the moment I first smelled this fragrance. It could possibly be the perfume I'll be using for the rest of my life - who knows! Fresh Cream is a more mature yet sweet vanilla scent and is perfect for any occasion.
Gold, Dainty Jewelry: The top and bottom chokers are from Stargaze Jewelry and the middle choker is from Rendezvous the Label. I love layering gold necklaces and chokers or wearing them alone. They add an extra, beautiful element to my outfits. I've collected many necklaces throughout 2017 and it's been fun to find ways to make my outfits more exciting just by adding jewelry.
Urban Outfitters Sunglasses: I may have just received these sunglasses for Christmas, but I am absolutely obsessed with them. They add a fun addition to any outfit. With an all black outfit, these sunglasses would make the outfit sleek and classy. There are so many ways to style an outfit with these sunglasses - the possibilities are endless!
Wildflower "Check Plz" Case: I have always loved Wildflower Cases and their fun designs. This checkered case is the perfect everyday phone case. I have a small collection of phone cases, but this one is almost always on my phone. Wildflower also has this case in red and white and pink and white!
Claire's Gold Hoops: I have my ears double pierces and I had been searching for the perfect, small gold hoops for ages. When I happened to be in Claire's one day, I found the perfect ones! I have two sets of these hoops and they look so beautiful on. Wearing two sets of small hoops brings an element of surprise to my accessories. Paired with gold necklaces, a gold bracelet, and a gold ring, it's a glowy, golden look.
Spider-man Homecoming: I absolutely LOVE this movie! I've always enjoyed watching the Marvel movies with my dad and brother. When Tom Holland first debuted as Spider-man in Captain America: Civil War, I fell in love with him as an actor (and as a person in general). Definitely a must see!
La La Land: If there's one movie that truly moved me in 2017, it's La La Land. This movie was beautifully done in all aspects. When I went to LA in September, I visited as many locations shown in the movie as possible. The soundtrack will forever be one of my favorites.
The Greatest Showman: Even though this movie came out at the end of December, I had to include it! The Greatest Showman is, like La La Land, beautifully created in every way. The setting, soundtrack, and cast is absolutely impeccable. If you haven't seen this yet, I highly urge you to do so. You'll definitely want to see it in theaters on the big screen!
Journaling: I have a love for journaling in all forms. I enjoy daily writing, bullet journaling, the 5 Minute Journal... the list goes on and on! Above is a photo of one of my beautiful journals that I often write in. If you are ever looking for a new hobby or way to de-stress, journaling is a great option!
Teen Vogue: Teen Vogue has been the one magazine I've been subscribed to for about 8 years now. Every issue and every article is appealing to me. Under the direction of Elaine Welteroth, the recent volumes have been constantly improving. The articles have been discussing current issues and events happening today and they're open to educating their young audience. My dream job is to be an editor or writer at Teen Vogue someday. Who knows what the future has in store!
Turmeric Supplements: Turmeric has many health benefits, such as suppressing fat tissue growth, helping with anti-inflammatory issues, lowering cholesterol, clearing your skin. I always take one tablet in the morning with my breakfast and then usually I'll take another one later in the day. I've added turmeric into my vitamin routine and feel better after taking it!
There you have it - all of my favorite things from 2017! I am going to be putting in a real effort to post more and I hope I stick to it, considering I would love to make this into my occupation! If you have any blog post ideas, you can always comment below and leave your feedback. Happy New Year!
